CAYOS COCHINOS FULL DAY TRIP

Cayos Cochinos, also known as the Cochinos Cays, is an archipelago located approximately 30 kilometers northeast of La Ceiba on the northern coast of Honduras. This group consists of two main islands, Cayo Menor and Cayo Grande, along with 13 smaller coral cays. The total land area of these islands is about 2 square kilometers (0.8 square miles), and they are part of the Bay Islands department within the Roatán municipality. As of the last census in 2001, the population was recorded at just 108 residents.

The Cayos Cochinos are recognized for their ecological significance as a Marine Protected Area managed by the Honduras Coral Reef Foundation. This region is part of the Meso-American Barrier Reef, which is the second-largest coral reef system in the world. The waters surrounding these islands are noted for their rich biodiversity and pristine conditions, making them a prime location for marine research and conservation efforts.

we leave around 9:30 a.m. and return around 4:30 p.m. We provide and open bar, fresh fruit to snack on and lunch. Not only will you see the beauty above the water while enjoying island cuisine with great company but we also stop at 2 different keys to snorkel.
